Tooling Specialist - FLRAA Build Team

The Tooling Specialist is responsible for leading the development, fabrication, and lifecycle management of Special Tooling (jigs, dies, fixtures, molds, patterns, gauges, etc..) to support the FLRAA Program. Guiding the successful completion of major projects in support of strategic priorities and complex technical objectives, the Tooling Specialist, applies advanced manufacturing technical principles, theories, and concepts to the development of innovative manufacturing technology on existing or advanced designs, concepts, processes, systems, and tools.

What you’ll be doing as a Tooling Specialist– FLRAA Build Team

•          Oversee design and fabrication of Special Tooling (ST) for use at a Bell Facility to manufacture components, component assemblies, or aircraft assembly.      
•          Tooling management for Special Tooling (ST) related to subcontracted components and component assemblies.
•          Generate system demand enabling tool purchase, write the statements of work defining requirements for tooling, and coordinate between tool supplier(s) and Bell.
•          Ensure compliance with the FLRAA contract and prepare customer delivery requirements documentation for on-time delivery.
•          Manages the Earned Value Management (EVM) Work Package Leader (WPL) role. Planning and monitoring cost-and-schedule execution, variance reporting, and status reporting. 
•          Implement effective Risk, Issue, and Opportunity (RIO) management, identifying impacts, informing decisions on structure/content, and developing mitigation strategies/plans.
•          Support the integration and implementation of new Tooling methods, procedures, and processes are implemented into the FLRAA tooling strategy and program operating instructions (POIs). 
•          Drive execution of the FLRAA tooling strategy to reduce lead time, and defects and improve First Pass Yield in support of the Program Execution Plan.
•          Collaborate with internal and industry-known Technical Subject Matter Experts (Technical Fellows/Technical Competency Leads), and Manufacturing Centers of Excellence to ensure the alignment of the FLRAA tooling strategy.
•          Coordinate with the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) to DD-250 Special Tooling (ST).

Skills You Bring To this Role

•          Proven self-starter requiring minimal supervision, with excellent foresight / problem-solving skills and experience coordinating with multi-discipline teams (engineering, manufacturing, tooling, quality, procurement, suppliers, etc.).
•          Familiarity with the requirements of engineering configuration management practices and industry standard engineering data documentation practices.
•          Practical knowledge of the following software tools: PowerBi, Primavera (P6), Premier (Bell), CATIA V6, 3DX, SAP, ENOVIA, Experimental and Production MES systems (i.e., CAMS, PEO).
•          Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook, Visio, etc.
•          Experience with military-aligned Earned Value Management (EVM) programs, including Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBRs) and EV metrics management and variance reporting.
• Willingness to support Government audit inquiry as a part of a Government Earned Value Management System (EVMS) or Quality audit.

What you need to be successful:

• Extensive related manufacturing and tooling industry experience required
• Minimum 5 years of related experience in project management, aircraft manufacturing, production engineering, development, and tooling, with specific experience in Bell business system processes.
•  Bachelor’s degree preferred. An additional 5 years of manufacturing and tooling experience will be considered in lieu of degree.

JOB SUMMARY
Assemble, troubleshoot and repair airframes, engines and systems. Perform modification work on aircraft as required. Perform engine and propeller buildup, installation and adjustment as required.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

About This Role

Textron Systems Slidell, LA, or Wilmington, MA (Land, Sea, Weapons, and Howe & Howe) is seeking an experienced Export Compliance professional to manage our expanding regulatory compliance and contractual obligations in our defense line of business. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success managing export and import compliance in an weapon, marine, and land vehicle/defense environment and have an extensive knowledge of the International in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations, and Customs Regulations, and must also have excellent communication skills. The Manager Export/Import Compliance will proactively oversee all export and import compliance matters for various businesses within Textron Systems located in Hunt Valley, Maryland.  This person will interact with employees at all levels and will work both independently and with other members of the business and members of the Legal, Contracts and Compliance staff on a variety of interesting international trade compliance matters.  The role requires successful management of a broad range of responsibilities in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.

Responsibilities:

·         Serve as an Empowered Official

·         Provide a full range of proactive export/import compliance guidance to program management, contracts, procurement, business development, shipping, security and other functional areas within the Company

·         Prepare and submit Directorate of Defense Trade Controls and Commerce license applications, Technical Assistance Agreements, Manufacturing License Agreements and Warehousing Distribution Agreements

·         Determine the applicability of ITAR exemptions, ECCNs and use of Commerce exceptions

·         Assist in maintaining a classified (HTS) Item database

·         Support and ensure compliance for GSP, NAFTA, and other duty preference programs

·         Work collaboratively with in-house attorneys and outside counsel to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations

·         Provide support in connection with internal/external audits and investigations

·         Review and approve Foreign Visitor Notifications through appropriate system

·         Review and approve shipping requests through appropriate system(s)

·         Track application status, maintain database of granted export approvals, satisfy record-keeping requirements, and prepare required reports

·         Assist in maintaining up-to-date Export/Import Compliance Policies, Procedures and Manuals

·         Plan and conduct employee training

·         Review export/import documents and work with Custom Brokers to expedite Customs clearance of products

·         Apply U.S. Customs regulations to business transactions ensuring Customs compliance

·         Facilitate/coordinate product reclassification

·         Review and approval of commercial invoices and shipping process and coordination of freight forwarder requirements

·         Perform other compliance activities as determined by the Director of Global Trade Compliance

·         Assist and mentor individual Domain Export/Import Compliance personnel in resolving import regulatory and classification interpretations, act as buffer between OUs and Textron Systems Office

·         Code Customs Broker import invoices for payment and review import entries for error

·         Coordinate communication with Customs brokers and Customs bond underwriters.

·         Focal point for alleged violations; assist in investigation and preparation of any required voluntary disclosures; coordinate review of same by the Textron Systems and Textron corporate offices

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree (emphasis on international trade management, international business, MBA or law a plus)
• At least 7 years of experience in Import and Export trade compliance, preferably with a major company or customs brokerage Experience in government contracting, software, and/or defense and aerospace industry a plus
• ITAR compliance experience, with progressively more complex responsibilities, as well as working knowledge of Import and Customs Regulations and Export Administration Regulations required
• A US Customs Brokers License is a plus
• Comprehensive knowledge of all U.S. import/export control regulations, including HTS classifications of electronics
• Prefer experience in government contracting and international trade compliance areas, such as Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, Antiboycott and Office of Foreign Assets Control
• Knowledge of NAFTA certificates of origin
• A team player with an open, mature and positive personality who is willing to share and communicate information effectively while maintaining high levels of integrity, confidentiality, and discretion

finishes to a variety of parts, assemblies and/or completed aircraft.
Job Responsibilities:
• Performs surface preparation of aircraft prior to painting. Marks areas to be filled. Mixes hardener
and filler. Applies hardener and filler to unfinished areas needing smoothing and contouring.
• Spray primer, paint filler and protective paint on prepared surfaces.
• Prepares plastic or fiberglass parts of aircraft using filler to provide uniform surface for paint
adhesion. Uses painting equipment including brushes and spray guns to perform minor rework,
touchup, priming, finish painting of partial aircraft when not otherwise engaged in paint

• Refurbishment aircraft – applies chemical paint removers.
• Roughs and finishes aircraft parts using various types of sandpaper and hand sanding machines

materials and patterns as required for composites/advanced composites parts fabrication. 
Operates the manual cutting of materials.
• Prepares proper materials to be cut.
• Maintains proper angle and radii of cut.
• Checks incoming detail parts against APL for proper kit fill.
• Maintains storage recording charts and required. Clocks all routing upon completion of 
cut and kit operations.
•  Assist with staging of materials for lay-up.
• Requires the use of equipment such as 5-axis machines, table saws and routers.
• Uses a variety of hand tools such as scissors, electric cutters, knives, markers, bag heat sealers, 
scale and tape, saws, and router. Uses CRT as required.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Avionics Software Engineer is a highly-motivated and self-driven team player capable of performing in a dynamic prototyping environment. This candidate is an experienced software engineer with broad technical knowledge, who can design and develop software from requirements, lead root-cause analysis, communicate options for resolution and provide recommendations for software defects.

The Avionics Software Engineer at TRU is responsible for the development, integration, testing, acceptance, and discrepancy resolution of software for avionics systems as they pertain to the aircraft being simulated. This position will work closely with the OEM, test pilots, and supporting documentation to ensure the models are functionally identical to the real aircraft.

Job Summary: To perform diversified production welding operations using welding processes on a variety of metal parts and gauges of materials ensuring the weld is fully penetrated and smooth. May be required to assist higher and lower grade Welders. 

Job Responsibilities:

• To perform fusion welding processes such as solder, tungsten inert gas, spot, seam, and orbital to weld a variety of metal alloy parts and assemblies, including carbon steel, stainless steel, Inconel, magnesium, and titanium. Works from shop routers, specifications, and standard operation methods.  
• Sets up parts and operates various welding equipment to weld all types and gauges of materials with or without fixtures. Inputs sequence of events in work center console.
• Improvises holding and locating devices to clamp and align parts and assemblies. Prepares material for welding operations by cleaning, forming, and positioning a variety of parts, tubes, and assemblies. Determines welding sequence to minimize internal stress, warping contraction, or expansion. Exercises close mental and visual attention to avoid welding defects such as excessive penetration, oxidation, porosity, cracks, or improper bead contour. 
• Performs operations necessary to smooth and finish welded parts and assemblies. 
  • Grinds and smooths welded parts to appearance specifications. 
  • Performs leak tests on welded parts and assemblies.
• A check, joins, straightens or hand forms detail and welded assemblies in accordance with appropriate check fixtures, specifications oral and written instructions.  
• May be required to operate power machines such as band saws, drill presses, sandblasting, and other equipment as required.  
• Selects proper heating coil and holding fixtures, adjust time cycle, voltage, current, and filament voltage on heater. Regulates flow of coolant and prepares quenching medias.  
• Prepares and applies flux to mating parts, inserting silver solder rings as required. 
• Immerses all parts in quenching media to obtain desired characteristics.  
• Removes excess flux and silver solder from parts. 
• Assemble parts for welding.
• Responsible for quality of own work.

Education:

Must have a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification. Must be able to obtain three (3) tig weld certifications, of the employee’s choosing and with supervisions approval, within a period of nine (9) months of entering the classification. Must pass written welding exam and an annual eye exam.

Experience:

Minimum three years of tig welding experience required (experience may include holding Production Welder C classification) without a Technical School Certification or a minimum of one year experience required with a Technical School Certification. Diversified production and tack welding, brazing, spot, seam, soldering, and flame heat treating experience preferred.

Working Conditions:

Somewhat disagreeable working conditions due to exposure to sparks, fumes, and heat.

JOB SUMMARY:

Coordinates the availability and movement of materials, raw stock, and parts to assigned shop areas as required by production schedules. May assist with internal or external requirements such as aftermarket, experimental, and all material store transactions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Receive and verify material for final order confirmations.

·         Assists with the movement of parts within or between departments.

·         Assist Supervisor with required personnel training programs to include such areas as inventory record accuracy, cycle counting, computer terminal utilization, MRP/SAP systems, etc.

·         Responsible for planning, organizing and prioritizing work/materials to meet production and assembly schedules.

·         Works from routing sheets, kit lists, material requisitions, dispatch reports, SAP manifest lists, and oral and written instructions to perform duties necessary to maintain adequate levels of materials, parts, kits and assemblies. Locates moves, delivers, or reports status of required parts and assemblies for various production areas.

·         Reviews bin locations, storage areas; shortage lists, and coordinates with material planners to determine required stock levels.

·         Requires regular contacts within production control, various production departments, supply chain, material stores, manufacturing engineering, etc.

·         Initiates material requisitions as required to obtain replacement or unplanned requirements, and coordinates with the requestor. Maintains out time tracking on all pre-pregs on shop floor and on kits that have been started.

·         Works from computer generated shortage reports, material requisitions, oral and written instructions to support a Production "Out the Door" on schedule condition.

·         Uses some judgment in inspecting the received articles for damage. Re-packages as required for movement to the next receiving position.

·         Moves the article to the next operation in accordance with the receiving report, router slip, or other accompanying paperwork.

·         Operates all applicable material handling equipment and some measuring devices as required to verify receipts are as listed on the packing sheet.

·         Performs inventory transactions as needed.

·         Maintains a clean and orderly work area.

·         Responsible for the quality of own work.

·         Load outgoing shipments and unload incoming shipments.

·         Create manifests and schedule shipments.

·         Able to operate all applicable warehouse machinery as required (Forklift, Hoist, Lift).

·         Pulls, pick, and package outgoing shipments. Label packages with all vital information

EDUCATION:

Job Description

Regional Sales Manager, Norway will be the primary Bell representative for two large accounts at different stages of the buying cycle.  The first account requires execution of the 525 Operational Evaluation (OpEval) project, including planning, facilitating oversees offshore operations, contract execution and performance monitoring.  The second account requires delivering a fleet of (10) Bell 525 aircraft and coordination  Entry Into Service (EIS) efforts in Norway.

Further Regional Sales Manager´s responsibility is the strategy, development, marketing and sales activities of Bell’s entire commercial product line in Norway and Iceland. Sales activity will include direct sales and managing Independent Representative Sales.  This position requires interaction with private, commercial customers, Para-public and government agencies .  Position also requires close coordination and interaction with other stakeholders within Bell and Textron.

Account Manager Responsibilities

·       Serve as Bell’s primary representative, internally and externally, with multiple customers for 525 OpEval, EIS, and delivery of aircraft including the first (10) contracted offshore helicopters into Norway. 

·       Lead an OpEval Project Team aligned with Bell core values that establishes and achieves all OpEval and Aircraft Delivery Key Performance Indicator metrics.

·       Develop collaborative relationships resulting in a high level of Customer satisfaction and positive relationships within the Project Team. 

·       Serve as the primary point of contact with _Norwegian leading Energy company for their Working Group Committees, sources the appropriate Bell resources and responses internally to satisfy their requirements and provides feedback.

·       Manage, track, and report all contract requirement deliverables to include primary responsibility for facilitating customer Project team meetings, delivery meetings, Milestone reviews, etc.

·       Conduct an internal Monthly Review and Report – Manage, track, and report on risks, issues and opportunities, financial budgets, and contractual requirements at the execution level.

·       Assist in the identification and development of additional aircraft kits to facilitate key mission requirements in the Offshore, SAR, and Utility mission profiles.  Ensure effective communication within Bell regarding customer requirements and Program/Engineering effort required to satisfy needs.

Sales Manager Responsibilities

·       Manages Bell’s commercial sales and marketing efforts within assigned region.

·       Responsible for customer relationships with state government and commercial markets.

·       Represent, negotiate and sell for Bell at all levels within private and civil government agencies.

·       Develop and implement strategic sales plans for all near term and long-term opportunities in territory.

·       Identifies and develops opportunities to grow regional market share, develop relationships for longer term sales prospects and respond to tenders aligned with the global sales strategy for product sales and manufacturing partnership opportunities.

·       Qualify and develop opportunities to grow regional 525 market share, develop relationships for longer term sales prospects and respond to tenders aligned with the global 525 sales strategy. 

·       Coordinate with internal teams in preparing formal proposals and RFI responses, requiring collaboration with contracts, pricing, the 525 program and Bell Customer Service and Support to maximize sales opportunities within the region.

Participate in regular executive level briefs as required

Further responsibility:

·       Collect and analyze market information, detailed research the business opportunity and demands.

·       Partners with development and engineering teams to incorporate Voice of the Customer feedback into new products and modifications.

·       Continually review and analyze marketing information including prepared reports and professional periodicals and news sources indigenous to territory.

·       Partner with the Bell Helicopter Customer Service and Support organization to maximize sales opportunities within assigned region.

·       Maintain accurate customer information within CRM tool.

JOB SUMMARY:

Use hand cabinet and robot to shot peen surface of aircraft components. Prepare aircraft components for surface enhancement and protects aircraft parts from corrosion.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform visual inspection to ensure any fixture or hard masking used is in good working order
• Ensure that the part to be peened is free from any surface contamination (corrosion, pitting, paint, residue, etc.). Clean if required using acetone. In cases of gross contamination, such as paint or heavy corrosion, escalate to engineering to get corrected prior to peening.
• Mask all surfaces not to be peened. Verify if masking is required, as overspray is frequently allowed.
• If hard masking exists, ensure hard masking is in good working condition upon installation.
• Program the robot to move the nozzle at the required peening angle and initial exposure time, or set up for performing the required peening for manual peening.
• Peen the part as required to meet the traveler requirements and then inspect the part to ensure satisfactory completion of the peening process in accordance with the requirements.
• Remove masking from the part. If tape was used, ensure that no tape residue is present.
• For each job, produce the required certificate of completion and place in the job packet.

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

• Must have a high school diploma, or an equivalent certificate
• Must be able to obtain and maintain an airport security badge through the local airport authority, if applicable
• 0-6 months Aviation or previous shot peen/surface enhancement experience is preferred.

Business Analyst:

• Provide innovative concepts and best practices for Bell's CATIA No Magic and 3DEXPERIENCE tool set.

  • Provide input on continuous improvement initiatives.  Develop and maintain a 5-year roadmap on the tools.

Quality Operations

Bring your experience and ideas and help us support and coordinate quality and compliance in the Drive Systems Center manufacturing facility. You’ll work with manufacturing, engineering, and other support groups to assure quality and compliance in across the shop and in the various processes and systems.  This role is an integral part of the Drive Systems team, working closely with our military and commercial customers to provide quality products in a timely manner. What you’ll be doing as a Quality Compliance Ops Specialist

Compliance Oversight:

•             Coordinate collaboratively with COE leaders (Quality and Manufacturing), other Culture & Compliance Team members and shop floor employees to conduct frequent COE-wide work area compliance audits of manufacturing and quality operations and processes to identify and document quality management system non-compliances.

•             Monitor compliance in terms of adherence to all work instructions, policies and regulations.

•             Ensure that COE leadership compliance priorities are integrated into actions plans with direct connection to enterprise compliance priorities.

•             Ensure audit documentation is completed in a timely manner and documented in software system to record and monitor results.

•             Ensure validation of COE compliance corrective actions to ensure effectiveness, robustness, and sustainment.

•             Identify technical training opportunities relative to compliance.

•             Ensure the COE is audit ready through mentoring, coaching and pre auditing as required.

•             Coach and mentor COE personnel and leaders to enhance compliance knowledge, increase corrective action robustness and drive ownership and behaviors reflecting a culture of compliance.

Customer and Regulatory Corrective Action Request (RCCA) Project Oversight:

•             Use project management tools and quality software to oversee and facilitate efficient and effective completion of all compliance audit findings (DCMA, FAA, AS9100 and Bell Process Integrity, etc.) and compliance efforts.

•             Support cross functional teams engaged in compliance and RCCA efforts as well as risk evaluation and mitigation per AS9100.

•             Assist in ensuring that COE communications concerning compliance are clear and optimal.

Advance a Culture of Quality Compliance:

•             Establish and nurture a Quality Advocate Program in partnership with other Culture & Compliance Team members to advance an integrated and collaborative culture of quality compliance COE wide.

·         Support and foster the EHSQ Champion Program to advance an integrated and collaborative culture of safety and quality across the COE and all U.S. Bell sites.

NDI Specialist

Bell is seeking a Nondestructive Inspection Specialist to support operations at our facilities located in Fort Worth, Texas.  This technical position is responsible for support required in the Quality Operations Nondestructive Testing Department.  In this position you will participate in the development, execution, and oversite of x-ray and shearography inspections.  You’ll lead or assist manufacturing, engineering, quality and NDT related special projects and tasks in support of processes used in the manufacturing environment to ensure robust and cost-effective product.  This role will be an integral part of the x-ray team and provides opportunity to gain experience with opportunity for career growth.

What you’ll be doing as an NDI Specialist

•  Operates computed radiography, fluoroscope, portable x-ray and shearography systems.
• Completes process checks
• Inspects parts in accordance with NDT specifications and procedures for various advanced materials, composites, metals and weldments in accordance with planning, procedures, blueprints, specifications, etc.
•  Develops and reviews NDT procedures.
•  Supports inspection, engineering and manufacturing personnel as needed for special inspections
•  Computer data entry (various Manufacturing Execution Systems and Microsoft Office software)
•  Requires some travel and shift flexibility depending on business need.

Skills You Bring To this Role 

• Minimum Qualifications:
• NAS 410 Level 2 or equivalent x-ray certification with experience in testing and inspection of aircraft components; weldments, metal and composite fabricated parts.

About this Role

The Sourcing Manager is responsible for establishing and executing the supply chain strategy to successfully support new development or existing production programs. The Sourcing Manager will be responsible for representing procurement to the program and engineering teams and must work collaboratively across all functions. This role will also be responsible for supplier evaluation and selection, negotiation and establishing long term contracts and management of complex supplier programs, in coordination with other supply chain teams.

This position will report to the Manager, Strategic Sourcing and be based in Hunt Valley, Maryland.

Key responsibilities:

·       Lead several highly complex supply chain sourcing projects concurrently across multiple programs

·       Create solutions to complex sourcing challenges based on trends and advancements using ingenuity, creativity and innovativeness

·       Evaluate, analyze and assess trends and advancements in commodities, technologies and sources of supply

·       Establish strategies to develop and improve the supply base as partners in support of quality, cost, delivery and service level objectives

·       Ensuring adherence to FAR, DFARs, and other applicable acquisition policies and regulations

·       Manage all elements of the sourcing process including obtaining and influencing program's requirements; analysis of commodities and sources, issuance of various solicitations (Requests for Information, Requests for Proposal and Requests for Quote); supplier selection, negotiation and contract formation

·       Lead high-dollar, critical negotiations of complex contract vehicles with suppliers supporting government or commercial programs

Qualifications:

Required qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or another related field

Exigences du poste / Qualifications

• Diplôme d’études collégiales dans le domaine de l’aéronautique ou de la maintenance d’aéronefs. Toute autre combinaison de diplôme et expérience équivalente dans le domaine de la maintenance d’aéronefs sera considérée.
• Un minimum de cinq (5) années d’expérience dans le domaine des publications techniques, de l’ingénierie de production ou de méthodes. 
• Une forte aptitude à lire et interpréter des documents techniques tel que des dessins, des normes ou des standards de fabrication est requise.
• Une connaissance des logiciels d’édition tel que Abortex Editor, Adobe Frame Maker, ainsi que  le logiciel d’édition MS Office est nécessaire.

The Griffon Long Life Extension (GLLE) program was granted by the Government of Canada to upgrade the CH146 Griffon helicopter's existing fleet of avionics systems, engines, cockpit displays and integrated sensor systems to meet the requirements of civil navigation and remain tactically viable until 2035.

Summary of job description

• Identify and analyze all the technical data required for the production and/or revision of the publication content (text and graphics).

Machinist II

This member of the manufacturing team will fabricate helicopter parts / accessories to engineering drawings.

Candidates selected for this position will be offered a weekday (Monday-Thursday) shift or weekend shift (Friday-Sunday). Shift will be based on preference (if available) and business need.

What you’ll be doing as a Machinist II

• Use manual mills and manual lathes with limited supervision.
• Use basic measuring equipment (ex. calipers, micrometers) to assist in the machining process, as well as more extensive measuring equipment (bore, depth gauges) as needed.
• Perform first piece inspection of others’ work.
• Maintain tolerance of +/- .01 with minimal errors.
• Program and operate CNC press break as required.
• Demonstrate safe work habits and always wear proper PPE.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills You Bring To this Role

• Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints/manufacturing drawings, and work orders.
• Ability to multitask and work in a team-oriented environment.

We are seeking an Inventory Assistant for a 6-month fixed term maternity leave cover contract with the possibility for extension. 

Duties and Responsibilities

The Inventory Assistant duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

• Comply with and maintain an understanding of the Textron manuals suite and the procedures contained within it;
• Ensure the policies, procedures and instructions published by the Company are adhered to;
• Hold safety as a core value and contribute to the achievement of a zero harm and incident/injury free environment through active participation in all safety programs relevant to the position;
• Report all safety related matters in accordance with the Safety Management System (SMS) and make appropriate recommendations to improve safety, productivity and efficiency;
• Daily perusal of the Job Board to prepare for upcoming scheduled jobs;
• Monitor incoming emails for the company bases part/s requirement/s;
• Liaise with the Engineering Manager, Chief Engineer and/or Job Co-ordinator as necessary for parts with a quoted high dollar value, or excessive lead time;
• Provide feedback to the Engineering Manager, Chief Engineer and/or Job Co-ordinator on part/component ETA;
• Source, order and purchase parts for all Company bases in a timely manner to ensure on-time deliveries;
• Review inventory in store and determine if the part is “in stock” or must be ordered;
• Obtain part prices and availability from approved vendor/s; 
• Generate and provide Purchase Order/s to vendor/s;
• Ensure all parts are efficiently and accurately processed;
• Upon receipt of goods, ensure that the correct part has been supplied, part is in good order and with appropriate documentation;
• When an item has passed the conformity inspection, allocate a batch number and issue to the relevant job and task and notify the Chief Engineer;
• Co-ordinate timely dispatch and return of warranty items and exchange cores from all bases direct to the supplier;
• Monitor delivery times to the specified location and communicate as required;
• Check Work-Packs to ensure all parts requested and stock items used on each job have been recorded on the Material Usage Sheet and have been issued to the correct Job and task; 
• Maintain the assigned stores areas, Stores office and desks in a neat and organised manner at all times; and
• Obey all lawful instructions given by the Inventory Manager.

Essential Qualifications

• Delivery focused with a high attention to detail;
• Excellent time management skills, proven ability to work under pressure, both independently and as part of a team, to deliver within tight and competing deadlines;
• Have a background in office administration, preferably within stock controls and logistics;
• Have experience in the aviation industry, preferred; and
• Have strong verbal and communication skills.

Work Performed:

Inspects production or first run parts, units assemblies made from a variety of materials, such as plastic, fiber glass, metal, wood, etc., or inspects types of materials where bonding agents or adhesives are used. Inspects bonded parts or parts to be bonded prior to, during and after bonding process. May inspect by disassembling at bond line to determine quality of bond and perform a variety of inspection tests to insure adherence to proper specifications. Working from blueprints, specifications or verbal instructions, inspects visually or by use of a wide variety of precision measuring instruments, equipment, gauges, jigs, fixtures, templates, etc., to determine acceptability. Performs difficult inspection layouts and setups to check work to proper standards or specifications. Rejects items, which fail to meet required standards. Using standard mathematical formulas related to the job to inspect weight and balance of rotor blades. Maintains records, graphs and charts on all bonding procedures, tests and related data. Aids, guides and assists other inspectors in proper bonding inspection methods and procedures. Required to handle the more complex and most difficult bonding or atest inspection work. Performs all phases of inspection on formed and machined plastic parts, assemblies and materials by determination through visual examination or by means of tools, templates, fixtures, measuring instruments or special inspection equipment the adherence to blueprints, specifications, inspection standards, workmanship, optical qualities, proper materials, finishes, defects, layouts, contours, bonding and dimensional correctness on all formed and machines plastic assemblies, raw material and detail parts.

Incumbents required to operate saws, drill press, shaper, sanders and pull test machines in preparing and testing bonded test parts. May perform destructive testing as required.

Tools & Equipment Used:

Saws, drill press, shaper, sanders, inspectors hand tools, precision measuring instruments, special testing devices and material testing equipment. Layout and set up equipment. Variety of specialized equipment necessary to perform required work, etc.

Experience & Other Requirements:

Three years inspection in bonding, fabrication, welding or finishing or two years inspection experience plus one year experience Bonding.

Job Responsibilities: 

• Sets up and operates CNC machines to fabricate aircraft parts from extrusions.
  • Review set-up sheet, secure vise jaws/holding fixtures to machine bed, and load required cutting tools. 
  • Observe machine operations for proper functioning. Edits programs when necessary to correctly fabricate parts. 
• Requires frequent contact with Manufacturing Engineering to coordinate machine operations on tool proving and production parts.

• Sets up and operates boring mill(s) to perform any precision machining operation within the normal capacity of the assigned machine(s) where holding fixtures, standard cutting tools and feeds and speeds are usually available. Occasionally required to improvise or alter standard equipment to accomplish a specific assignment. 
  • Performs machine setup necessary to machine and check parts where considerable initiative and ingenuity must be exercised by the operator. 
  • Sets and adjusts table, determines and sets feeds and speeds for each operation and selects, adjusts, grinds and checks precision cutting tools. 
  • Selects, secures, and adjusts proper tools, fixtures, machine attachments, equipment, etc., to accomplish assigned work.
• Uses machinist hand tools which may include crescent wrenches, allen wrenches, hammer, etc. 
• Uses a variety of precision measuring instruments which may include micrometers, calipers, comparator, air gage, hole gage, etc. 
• Responsible only for own work. 
• Performs other related duties as required. 

Education: Requires a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification. Requires the use of blueprints, advanced shop math, handbook formulas, specifications, and a variety of precision measuring instruments.

Experience: 3-5 years experience on directly related machine shop equipment plus orientation period on boring mill.

HR Business Partner

The Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) position will be based at our headquarters in in Ft Worth, Texas and will support multiple business functions and support HR global processes. This role will report to Sr. Leader HRBP Global/Commercial.

What you’ll be doing as an HR Business Partner

This position provides strategic and operational support in partnership with business unit leadership, plans and implements human resources initiatives designed to maximize organizational effectiveness through talent management processes and job/organization design.  The HRBP aligns HR initiatives with strategic business objectives and coordinates with other HR functions to execute objectives consistent with Corporate Business and HR strategy, policies, and practices. This role will also have responsibilities supporting global HR related activities.
 

Key Areas of Responsibility

• Identifies and migrates HR best practices on a regional/global basis through Human Resources leadership.
• Initiates, coordinates, and enforces project, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.  Acts as primary contact for employee relations’ issues and resolutions.
• Collaborates with client groups to manage employee job performance by coaching, counseling, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
• Acts as advocate and advisor to employees and leaders regarding career and leadership development initiatives.
• Develops and delivers presentations to leaders and employees regarding HR policies and practices.
• Contributes to team effort by proactively participating in and helping accomplish team objectives.
• In collaboration with the respective functional personnel, coordinates staffing forecast to project employment/deployment needs. Where appropriate, coordinates hiring activities with the Global Talent Acquisition team.
• Administers compensation processes for the designated function(s) within guidelines and/or partners with the Compensation team on recommendation of alternatives to meet business requirements.
• Supports competitive pay and retention practices by collecting data, researching and making salary recommendations where appropriate.
• Helps drive an environment of engagement, shared success and continuous improvement.
• Operates within the boundaries of the Textron/Bell Business Conduct Guidelines.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

 What you need to be successful

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or other related field from an accredited college.
• Minimum 2 years’ HR experience.
• Knowledgeable of applicable state and federal labor and employment laws.
• Ability to travel, as business needs require.

HR Business Partner Manager

The HR Business Partner Manager will be responsible for establishing a new site location in Wichita, KS, including managing and coordinating all HR functions and services for employees at that location. This role will support approximately 100 employees who will be responsible for assembling aircraft for our largest military contract in Bell's history.
